WEBSITE CASE STUDY: NORTH SOUTH RETAIL

North South Retail was set up in 1999 by the Managing Director, John Pell. Since the founding of the company he has strived to develop strong relationships with our customers through excellent customer service and by sourcing the best quality products from across Ireland and Europe.

THE CHALLENGE

NSR’s existing website provided a simple, clean and professional look.

However, it was lacking the functions necessary to allow NSR to effectively display their range of products and services.

John had visions of allowing the site to not only take on a more professional look and feel, but also to allow visitors to browse and filter through the companies extensive variety of products on offer to them.

Alongside that, a redesign of the UI was necessary to drastically improve overall user experience and functionality of the site.

Allowing the website to perform as necessary to maximise conversions from potential customers landing on the site.

OUR APPROACH

Working closely with John and the NSR team, we developed a new sitemap and UI based design.

We focused on presenting the company as an authority within the food supplier industry, with predominantly darker colours to represent a more ‘high end’ feel, coupled with carefully placed accents and imagery to bring an element of brightness to perfectly compliment the new darker theme.

Alongside that, over 300 products were added, each with its own category, page and description section so users can easily browse and filter through the extensive range on offer.

Strategically placed CTA’s throughout the site were also added to enhance the conversion potential and consistently drive traffic towards the numerous contact forms designed to allow visitors to contact NSR directly about becoming a stockist of their products or making general inquiries.

With the company going through a rebrand at the time of the website design and development process beginning, we utilised NSR’s brand new leaflet design as the main source of inspiration for the overall design and feel of the new website.

THE RESULTS

The finished product ended up surpassing all previous expectations of how this site would look upon starting the development process.

Colourful imagery coupled with carefully implemented overlays allow the newly added font families to introduce the brand to it’s visitors in a bold, enthusiastic and approachable way, whilst still maintaining the professional and high end feel necessary to present the company as the authority within the food supplier industry.

Alongside that, high quality imagery of the brands affiliate companies and beautiful product ranges adorn the website throughout each page, adding new colours and textures to further compliment the darker theme implemented into this build.

Careful categorisation of products now allow the user to seemlessly search and filter through the hundreds of beautiful products on offer by brand.

Giving NSR the ability to showcase their entire product range easily and effectively without the need for sending potential customers to their brochure for reference.

Complete optimisation of the website both for speed and SEO will ensure over time the website will be favoured by search engines for it’s fast loading speed and UI focused functionalities.
